The Business Marketing Association’s 2009 national “UNlearn” conference, which took place at Chicago’s Drake Hotel June 10-12, was a sold out success.
In contrast to many professional organizations, including the Direct Market Association, which have postponed or canceled their events, BMA’s annual conference is thriving and was 90% larger than its 2008 conference. We believe our ‘UNlearn’ theme really resonated with b-to-b marketers who know b-to-b marketing is rapidly changing and who need a single conference where they can learn about the full spectrum of change taking place in our field.
With 13 keynote and 12 breakout sessions, BMA’s conference attracted marketers from 24 states, British Columbia and every one of BMA’s 21 chapter markets.
If you missed the national BMA conference or just want a recap, our six-person social-media team was there tracking details to help you learn, relearn and UNlearn. The BMA social-media team was on-hand, live tweeting most conference events, posting blog recaps and posting Flip video interviews with speakers and attendees alike. To catch the conference buzz and still engage with conference goers, go to BMA's UNlearn: 2009 Annual Conference social-media page.
Details for the 2010 Annual Conference will be announced shortly on the National BMA website: www.marketing.org.
Thanks again for making this year's annual conference such a great success!

Gary Slack, Vice Chairman, Business Marketing Association, and 2008-2009 President, BMA/Chicago.
